Plugin for custom image id numbers?

Is there a plugin that will let me have custom image id numbers instead of the default number system? Instead of ID # 2536 a product SKU for example id # 9780889228405?

One immediate problem is that the ID field is an INT which maxes out at 2147483647

We’re limited to only 2 billion 147 million images in a Textpattern site?
