minor textile bug with quotation marks

Here is a minor textile bug I can not reproduce in the forum

"<a href="#" rel="external">Some title</a>"

The last quotation mark is rendered as &#8220; instead of &#8221;

Tested on txp v4.5.7

Re: minor textile bug with quotation marks

Might have been fixed in Textile 2.5 (which this forum and Textpattern 4.6 both use). Can you verify in 4.6dev?

No:( Although I should create a test install once I get some time off.

Interestingly this works just fine butI can not add the rel attribute: ""some link":http://#".

Update. I tested it on the txp tips site. Textpattern version: 4.6-dev (31224cc4aee347a9922160aee9030415). The bug is still there.

Shouldn’t you use <a href="#" rel="external">"Some title"</a> anyway?
Type rules usually say that ponctuation around or following an expression should use the same style.
It is maybe not the answer you wanted but as Textile was made with love for fonts use, it is maybe why it does not work…

Hi Nicolas,

Maybe I’m wrong but having any punctuation marks linked just doesn’t look right in the syntactic relevance to where the link is pointing to.

Regardless, I think that textile is demonstrating an unexpected behaviour in this case.

Anyway, if you can’t reproduce it in the forum, you are right, it’s probably a bug…
So there is also another one with: Is that a "bug":#? > Is that a bug?
The question mark does not appear with Txp…

Edit: not tested on 4.6
