Timestamp for pages and forms

With complex sites, it would be advantageous to display a timestamp for pages and forms, similar to the timestamp in articles, files, images, and links. This could be shown below the input form on the right hand side, such as “created on …” and “last edited on …”. Possibly, such a timestamp could also be used with <txp:modified /> on the front end (for pages), because not all content has an article context which is required for <txp:modified />.

Re: Timestamp for pages and forms

I second that and like to extend it on having the username displayed on the admin side.

Use this as a strong signal to move your content into an article: Articles are the place for textual content by design.

Re: Timestamp for pages and forms

Too bad if this idea had to die for potentially unfavourable wording and a disadvantageous interpretation of these.

If one changes a page template in order to fetch other sets of articles/different images/more articles etc., then this page has been modified essentially and is worth indicating these changes to the visitors as much as a changed article is.
And as much as an article deserves information about authorship, creation and modification dates for the sake of authors orientation (admin side), as much deserve pages these information for the benefit of web developers and designers.
