There were some discussions on this subject a while back on the forum, I initially was leaning towards snippets myself but partials is becoming quite a common term now amongst web designers, and used to reference code clips in popular coding techniques like Less and Sass.

I think the term snippet or snippets is perfectly description of what the forms are doing. You could call them modules too, but that’s maybe a bit to much.

Re: “snippet” terminology.
There is a little baggage on the snippet term from the MLP Pack that some here may have used. In the MLP Pack, a snippet is a translatable string. This is pretty different from a Txp form which is generally a larger element that can contain Txp tags.

I now think that partials are the correct terminology for the future. Not snippets and certainly not foms (why that term was chosen i will never know).

A quick Google Search only turned up http://shinytoyrobots.com/2011/11/partials-simplify-rails-web-design/
I think partials or snippets or just about anything would work – I just have always thought forms was a confusing name that really impacts people getting started.

I changed the mentions of ‘forms’ to ‘code partials’ on the .com slider images a few months back and no one has complained or probably even noticed (well, apart from Destry)
