[contrib] A Textpattern swag store

OK, I have an idea brewing. I would really appreciate some feedback on the following.

Part of my day job is branding and marketing. As part of the ongoing efforts to get Textpattern more widely recognised, making some branded apparel/swag/bumpf/etc available would help get Textpattern out there in the offline world and make current Textpattern fans all fuzzy and warm. Or, to put it another way, there’s a Wordpress swag store, and many other CMS platforms have t-shirts etc available.

What I am proposing is that I will create a Textpattern logo swag store on Zazzle, with a nominal royalty/markup/profit, 100% of which will be split between the developers or war chest fund. I will not profit from this venture, nor would I want to.

The Textpattern logo is released as careware and my contribution for being allowed to use the logo in a store would be to a) put the profits into Textpattern, b) be able to offer something back to a platform I have found massively useful and c) spend an hour a day away from my computer doing good things, where I would have otherwise been working.

Any feedback, ladies and gentlemen, is appreciated. Thank you for reading.

Didn’t we used to have some swag going on back in the day? Like some shirts and mugs? What happened to it?

I found this link: http://www.spreadshirt.com/shop.php?sid=27507 (found here) which is now defunct/deleted and was operated by TXPMag, that’s the only thing I’ve found so far.

I have a Textpattern shirt that Dean sent me years ago, and I still proudly wear it. I’ll gladly pony up for more Txp swag.

I’m sure, in time, that can be arranged :)

Good to know – thanks, Anton. Could you take a photo of what you have? I’ve never seen an actual Textpattern shirt before!

Re: [contrib] A Textpattern swag store

There used to be a photo in the forum somewhere of an original Txp tee. I think they were Txp yellow with a black chiseler guy on them, though I’m not positive about the graphic, or the color, for that matter. Anton…photo?

Pete, you around?

Re: [contrib] A Textpattern swag store

I think this is a great idea, I for one would love a Textpattern tee-shirt to wear with pride.
