Re: [ARCHIVED] Postmaster (0.4.4) -A simple newsletter manager

I don’t know if anyone is monitoring this anymore, but when I post to my list I get the following message about 20 times:

Warning: tag does not exist in /home5/jugglerd/public_html/opalcat/textpattern/publish.php on line 1202

Then the whole thing works as it’s supposed to and the mailing goes out. What does it mean?

I can’t help on the error – but are you using this version or the revamped one (see link above)

OpalCat, then you might try v1.0.10, from Manfre’s download site.

Does it migrate nicely?

there are some differences.

For example both name and surname are now required for registration…. some others too.

Back up the tables and migrate. It was almost seamless for me.

Re: [ARCHIVED] Postmaster (0.4.4) -A simple newsletter manager

I’m having trouble with emails not parsing html in the excerpts. For example, a recent email went out with the excerpt:

"<p>Melt chocolate chips over medium heat until smooth. It is important that there aren’t any lumps as you will feel them in the texture of the fudge if there are…</p>
"

I used to get a special code between words in the title, too, until I wrapped the whole thing with <txp:rah_function call="html_entity_decode"> and </txp:rah_function> (I even made the subject line <txp:rah_function call="html_entity_decode">MySite.com New Article: <txp:title /></txp:rah_function> to get rid of special characters in the subject line. I thought that this code would cause all of the html in the form to parse, but apparently not. I also don’t know why that last quotation mark is on a new line.

Any ideas on why I’m getting special characters and html tags in the excerpt? Here is what my form looks like:

=======================
MYSITE.COM NEW ARTICLE
=======================
<txp:rah_function call="html_entity_decode">
Dear <txp:bab_pm_data display="subscriberFirstName" />,

You are receiving this email because you have requested to be notified when new articles are posted at opalcat.com.

A new article, "<txp:title />", has been posted. Here is an excerpt (please excuse any strange symbols in this email, we're working out a bug with our mail processing program):

"<txp:rss_auto_excerpt words="75" showlinkwithexcerpt="0" striptags="img, p"  />"

You can read the rest of the article here:<txp:bab_pm_data display="link" />.

</txp:rah_function>

=============================================

If you no longer wish to receive email from me about this, I am sad to see you go but I understand.
