They won’t. There aren’t any prefs in that version, only in the beta. Also, the beta fixes some Js problems so could you grab the latest version from the frontpage and try that.

For everyone’s convenience, here are the links for the beta and it’s plugin library again.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] sed_section_fields

Ok, i installed the beta version of the plugin and the preferences do show up now, nice. even though, as pointed out, i am much more interested in getting this plugin to work on Firefox 2 on a MAC, does anybody know why this plugin works for some in this browser but not for me?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] sed_section_fields

Is there a reason you can’t use FF3?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] sed_section_fields

ah well, i just figured not to rely on FF3 yet, assuming that not everybody has it installed. i could ask my client though, if they are using it switching to see if it works might be an option. i read FF3 slows down browsing on a MAC significantly, that true?

Nope. We’ve got 25+ machines here – all running FF3 (or Safari) – and I haven’t heard any reports of slowed browsing.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] sed_section_fields

ok nice one, will try FF3 out then. even though it remains a mystery to me why this plugin works for some on said browser but not for others. I am wondering what might cause this…

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] sed_section_fields

Seems unlikely, but do you have any extensions/plugins installed in FF2?
I’m just throwing things out there.

Try booting FF in safe mode

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] sed_section_fields

And again, had another project in between…

Now that i upgraded to the abovementioned beta version the plugin just does not work at all anymore. on both MAC and PC no custom fields are hidden upon change of section. On IE7 i get a java warning “object expected”… before my upgrade it at least worked on safari and all PC browsers :(
is there noone else experiencing this kind of trouble? seems so unlikely that i am the only person this great plugin does not do the job for.

what i did:

installed the latest library + plugin version (see links provided by net-carver above)
upgraded after the install (link upgrade data)
set some custom fields in _sections to “hidden”
set the right privileges so that changing a section in _Write should effect the display after log in as staff writer

I am desperate… what do i miss here? any help appreciated, still

@renobird: did not try to boot in safe mode yet. No Extensions installed by now.

Works for me in Safari for Windows, but not in IE7.

Also, the static section functionality doesn’t seem to do anything at all. Sections set as static still show up in the section drop-down menu of the Write tab. Anyone else having that problem?
