[request] twitter plugin?

I have seen people who use Wordpress have the Twitter plugin. Is there anyone who will be willing to make this plugin for Textpattern?

I know there is this txp_twitter plugin but it writes a tweet at your space at Twitter, each time you write or edit a post. I do not want that. I wanted to have the tweets from Twitter into the sidebar at Textpattern.

I do not use badges. I do not like them. I use a JS. I just had to upload the file then put the script into the head tags.

Re: [request] twitter plugin?

If twitter has RSS, wouldn’t the simplepie feed plugin allow you to load your feeds into txp?

Re: [request] twitter plugin?

yes it would. also, i keep reminding people of the wonderful asv_tumblelog which is really easy to set up and a joy to use. it serves a double duty as tumblelog and rss importer. if combined with a cronjob it provides anything i ever wanted: assign different feeds to different categories, etc etc…

Re: [request] twitter plugin?

Ok if I was to get the simplepie feed plugin, in the sidebar, I could just put this <txp:feed>link to twitter rss</txp:feed>??

Ok I do not think it works for me. I get errors.

Documentation. If that doesn’t help, post your errors.

Re: [request] twitter plugin?

Uhm, where is the simplepie.inc?? I only see the simplepie_textpattern.txt and that is probably why I got errors in the first place because I do not have simplepie.inc uploaded.

Re: [request] twitter plugin?

The simplepie.inc textpattern download page has the txp plugin text. The next link below is the file you’re looking for…

http://simplepie.org/wiki/plugins/textpattern/simplepie_plugin_for_textpattern

Here’s the link to the zip that includes some documentation and the simplepie.inc file you need for the plugin.

http://simplepie.org/downloads/

Hope that helps…JH

Re: [request] twitter plugin?

Alright I got rid of the js. Recently uploaded the inc file and installed the simplepie plugin. I need help with getting rid of what’s shown in the list. I want to get rid of the links. I also want to get rid of the prefixes or be able to change them. How can I go about doing those things?

Re: [request] twitter plugin?

I’ve been working on a plugin for displaying your latest tweets on your site. I’m currently testing it and expect to be able to release it in the next few days.
