Woohoo! The export and import functions work great! Thanks!

Also, for anyone upgrading, make sure you deactivate/delete the old postmaster library, otherwise your site will be broken until the old lib is deactivated.

Great News!

However, I cannot install the plugin (get an “empty code” error message; library installs just fine). Ben, would it be possible to also provide a compressed version of the plugin?

Thanks a lot.

Haven’t tested yet but when installing the library 0.2, it did not replace the old 0.1 version.

I added a note to the download page about the Library. I also added a compressed version of the plugin (made using the new, advanced ied_plugin_composer). The Postmanual site is done with Natalie Jost’s “Blueprinted” design (from the 2007 Textplates competition).

Re: [ARCHIVED] Postmaster (0.4.4) -A simple newsletter manager

I am testing the plugin and it doesn’t seem to work for me:(

This is what I have in the form

Dear <txp:bab_pm_data display="name" />,

<txp:bab_pm_data display="body" />

===========
If you do not wish to receive emails from us please go to
http://www.neme.org/newsletter
and enter your email to unsubscribe. Once you do that, your email will be completely deleted from our database.

At the moment i have only 2 of my addresses in the database for testing purposes.
The email is sent to both but it only contains the following

Dear ,
===========
If you do not wish to receive emails from us please go to
http://www.neme.org/newsletter
and enter your email to unsubscribe. Once you do that, your email will be completely deleted from our database.

None of the tags are parsed. :(
The plugin and the library are both enabled.

>Edit: I can provide you with access to our site should you wish to check what it is which might be causing the error.

Re: [ARCHIVED] Postmaster (0.4.4) -A simple newsletter manager

Is there any way I can log each bulk sending in order to spot delivery errors etc? It seems not all subscribers got their email so it would be nice to see who got it and who didn’t.

cheers,

Re: [ARCHIVED] Postmaster (0.4.4) -A simple newsletter manager

colak,

Can you try updating your Form so that the tags are:

<txp:bab_pm_data display="Body" />

and

<txp:bab_pm_data display="subscriberName" />

?

I think that’s going to solve your problem. I’ll make a more prominent note that the attribute values have changed.

Anton,

There’s a column in the bab_pm_subscribers table (if you have rss_db_manager you can easily look at it) called “flag”. As each email is sent, that column is marked “mailed”. The next time you send a mailing, the column gets scrubbed. However, that will only tell you whether the email was sent or not. If you want bounce-back, tracking or other more advanced features, Postmaster doesn’t have them. Did the emails end up in junk mail folders?
