Re: [archived] sdr_guestbook

Hi, i’m very new to Textpattern. I’m finding it difficult to get the guestbook showing the newest entries on the top
here’s my guestbook address
http://platinum.goldeye.info/index.php?id=11

it’s just a test site where I try to learn Textpattern before implementing it on my main website

I think I knw the reason for it. I don’t know where exactly to drop this text part mentioned in the second step. What exactly is the “page used by your section” and where should I paste it? withing the < body > tags?

Can somebody explain this step for me please:
Drop the following text on the page used by your section: <txp:sdr_guestbook section=“guestbook” pagelimit=“10” articletitle=“Guestbook” />

Eh, I am so confused! Where the heck do I put the tag in? Can you clarify on the steps? Maybe give a screenshot for each step…

Re: [archived] sdr_guestbook

This plugin is not supported anymore. You would not really need it because now you can use <txp:comments sort="posted desc" />.
I was going to suggest cha_comment_reply but I see you already found it :)

Re: [archived] sdr_guestbook

How would I create a guestbook using <txp:comments sort=“posted desc” />?? Can you provide me some steps? Also can there be another attribute for number of comments per page?

Re: [archived] sdr_guestbook

Well, the most important difference between regular comments and a guestbook is that in a guestbook the latest comment is on top instead of at the bottom :) So to achieve that you’d only need to adapt the comments tag for one particular article (you can create a separate article form), that can be your guestbook.
But you are right, this plugin was able to paginate comments, and that is not possible using the txp tag. You could have a look at this plugin for paginated comments.

Re: [archived] sdr_guestbook

So I create a section for the guestbook, create an article with text to be shown above the guestbook, then create a page and put the tag <txp:comments sort=“posted desc” /> in?? I am guessing the article tag and comment form tag is missing or something?
