Where in Portsmouth were you? I used to live down here
when I went to school here. I mostly lived in Southsea.

Its a funny city really, but I like Southsea quite a bit.

I was saying at a friends place on Merton Road, actually down there for the final weekend of Cowes week so I did’t spend long in Portsmouth/Southsea.

My first time sailing The Solent :-S

Sorry chaps, I really can’t make Sunday :o(

I hate to miss out on this chance but I hope you all have a good time without the lingering smell of Stinking Bishop…

Cheers,

What!? No cheese! That’s just not right.
Well we’ll drink for you Jon :)

There will be more opps. The long term is to move this direction for me, if I can swing it.

All else, see you there in about 40 minutes.

Interesting, up until1989 I lived most of my life in Southsea. Went to school there etc. Apprenticeship in Pompey Dockyard, skateboarding on the seafront before the skatepark was built, skirting the agro at Fratton Park, attempting to drink the multitude of pubs dry, you know, the normal Portsmouth stuff.
I was looking at a geek-map on the BBC the other day which showed Portsmouth to be a low spot for connectivity, some things never change I guess. Looking forward to showing the wife all my old hangouts, if we can ever save the funds to fly over (the flying is the cheap bit, ‘tis the staying that hurts the wallet!).

Re: TXPers London Meetup August 12-19?

Sekhu,
Thats funny. Well, plenty of pints were drunk, err drank? I can’t remember how that works :)
Graeme and I got on well and there was plenty of geekiness to share.
More than that though, I’m particularly fond of breaking the seal on what is often internet
only contact, and internet only friendships. Having met Hakjoon some months ago was a real
pleasure, and it makes writing to him a little more “real” now, somehow.

Thus it will be with Graeme. I hope I can meet more and more TXP folks over time. I find it enlightening,
and enriching. This is a good group of people. Plus so many people here seem to enjoy a good drink,
and the fruits of fermentation happen to be one of my favorite things to enjoy with good company.

Until the next time … :)
