Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive

wilshire,
that’s a great plugin, but i have a small problem with character encoding =( It worked fine on my first host, but since i moved my site to another server, I’ve got problems with cyrillic encoding in this plug-in. I suppose, that it depends onn server’s settings, but I can’t figure out how to fix it….

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive

wilshire,

Great plug-in by the way; it is installed here bulletin archives.

Tonight I was running the site through all sorts of browsers for testings since it will be going live later this week. During that testing your plug-in failed to work in the IE7 beta version. They must have changed something with IE7 for you can no longer click on the Year or Month LI’s to filter down to posts. It could be an IE7 bug or it could be that they have changed something underneath. Either way, I figured should give you may want a heads up. The plugin does check out in Netscape 7.1+, Firefox 1.0+, Opera 8.0+, IE 6.0. I’ll be checking IE 5.5 and Opera 7.54 tomorrow evening; I lost track of time and its late ;).

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive

hi rob

just wondering if there’s any kind of support for a ‘timeframe’ kind of property. I have a client who posts a great many articles with future dates, and he’s dissatisfied that people can access these early via the live archive.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive

Much thanks for all your wonderful txp plugins. I just noticed that rss_live_archive doesn’t filter out hidden articles. Not sure if the other archive plugins make the same mistake. I tried poking around the plugin to add a

<code>“WHERE Status = 4”</code>

concatenation to the SQL query, but I guess I wasn’t doing something right, because I never noticed a change Cacheing issues maybe? Not quite sure how to properly edit this to make sure that Hidden articles are hidden in the archives too. Any thoughts?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive

Is anyone else having problems with this in txp 4.0.4?

I’m getting the following errors:
An error occurred in the following tag: <txp:rss_live_archive_js/> -> Warning: array_keys(): The first argument should be an array on line 581

An error occurred in the following tag: <txp:rss_live_archive_js/> -> Warning: array_diff(): Argument #1 is not an array on line 581

Anyone know what’s going wrong here? Cheers.

I am as well. Any ideas? I was hopoing to use this plugin on a site I am building. LiveSearch is up and working. Could there be a conflict?

Steve

Edit: See the previous entry regarding this conflict. It appears that the author is not maintaining this plugin anymore?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive

I have modded the plugin to work with 4.0.4, a few simple hacks really. paste encode plugin Textile in the forums? Gah, what a silly idea. Now I cannot post code up!

So it is available for download from here:
rss_live_archive

Dunno how long it will be up though. A server move is on the cards pretty soon.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive

Glad it is working for you guys. The Firebug extension for Firefox was invaluable when debugging this plugin.

One thing I noticed though; the WilshireOne website is running Txp4.0.4 (http://www.wilshireone.com/article/198/now-running-txp-404) according to a blog post on there. I then checked out the archives and rss_live_archive (http://www.wilshireone.com/livearchive ) is installed and still working. So he has either patched it himself (if so why not release it?) or rolled back to Txp4.0.3.

Anyway I couldn’t be bothered waiting so patched it.
