Re: Any interest in these plugins?

Duffe,

Just curious – but how often is the ‘most_often’ information updated?

I gather it reads the TXP logs, but doe sit do this everytime the page the plugin is on is loaded?

Having had it working on a site (running RC3) for a few hours now, I notice that the list of articles hasnt changed…

Thanks

Glad you got it working. Yeah, it does a re-count everytime the page is loaded. I wouldn’t expect there to be much change after a few hours, but it all depends on your traffic and the frequency you post articles.

I think there’s a preference in Textpattern somewhere where you can tell it how long log data should be kept for. I think the default is two weeks. Because log data is automatically removed, this plugin can only determine “recent popularity”. However the beauty of this is it directs readers to articles of interest to people in recent times.

In the next version of this plugin I want to add the ability to place hit counter alongside each headline so you can see just how popular the articles are!

there actually is an existing plugin that does that: ras_counter

Hey Duffe, great plugin and great ideas!! I would like to know if you are releasing the Autolinks plugin soon.

Re: Any interest in these plugins?

“autolinks” is a very good idea. A couple of months ago I tried to hack it using textile but was unsuccessful.

My use case: replace instances of a name with a mailto: link.

Re: Any interest in these plugins?

autolinks is actually something a client has asked me for. As soon as I get their site ported to TextPattern, I’ll be ready to test it out.

Re: Any interest in these plugins?

send2afriend and autolinks are very interesting to me. Tops though to send2afriend … this doesn’t seem to exist elsehwere and is something I very much need to be able to do.

Willing to test either — I have two textpattern pages to play with if you are interested …

Re: Any interest in these plugins?

duffe,

I would be interested in autolinks, this is something that would be greatly interesting,I am testing now all my plugins on the latest changelog(RC-3)
if you could post it here or send it to me by mail.(can be found in User list)
(However, we have to bear in mind that there are big differences in the code in RC-3 between previous versions)

regards, marios
