Something like a schedule ...
I’m looking for a plugin that will help you to organize schedules, set up an event calendar … something of that nature.
I reckon it would work just fine if there were something that would allow posts to set to a later date, but still show up on the site prior to that date, kept in chronological order. So that I could have a section/category set up for February and set the date and time of each entry to the date and time of the event, rather than the post, and still have it show up.
That’s just one way it could be handled, but anything at all would do. Does such a plugin exist?
Calendar … I don’t want an archive calendar. I want a calender of things yet to come. Any ideas at all?

check sourceforge.net for open source php calendar programs… there a quite a few.

Wait 48 hours and then check my site’s event calendar (still in the middle of populating it). I used mdp_calendar plugin and a few hacks to get it to work.

Yeah I’ve got it to work, however we’re holding off on making the events live until I’m finished with all 12 art groups, so it’ll be until the weekend before their up. Sorry for the delay, I’ll bookmark this thread and post again when their live (right now I’m adding them as hidden).

Ok I posted the events on our calendar page. I’m not sure if this is the end solution for what we’ll need it for, but it should give you a decent example of what the mdp_calendar plugin can do.

Sounds like I might have a solution… I made this plugin which might be of use, http://forum.textpattern.com/viewtopic.php?id=2464
Uses rrules to make post repeat. Afraid the plugin is in need of some refining. Let me know if it’s the sort of thing you are looking for and I’ll make more of an effort to finish it.

sorry guys, been wrapped up in selling and forgot to check the thread.
theturninggate – Basically I rewrote the rss_suprarchive plug-in to work with all future dates, and combined it with the textpattern article function to display the list within the page’s section instead of linking to another section like the original archive plugin. Then, using the mdp_calendar as an interface I created the calendar section.
graeme – I’m interested in seeing a more fleshed out demo of your plug-in, its good to see someone else needing a section that contains future dates.

yes, very nice execution of future dates ‘roll’ linked to articles (very nice site too).

What happens once the date is past? Does it disappear on its own from the list?
Any chance of you documenting that / making it available for others? I for one would have an immediate use for something very similar.

Yes, i need something like this for my site, at least something that lists articles in the order you specify by date, something like a calendar/scheduler.
