admin panel blocked me out, error code 404 Not Found

I’m blocked out from logging into my admin user panel to work on my site. I went to Softaculous, Textpattern and edit my password and saved installation details. Now, I’m locked out. The 404 Not Found error page has a small password input box at the bottom of the page, but it is not accepting my password.
Help!!! My admin panel url is http://bgpzblog.com/textpattern/index.php

I can see that URL fine. Displays a regular Textpattern login panel. Has the page been cached or something in your browser? Does it work from an incognito/private browsing session?

i went to the login url and entered test as user and test as paswd; then i received this error:

Could not log in with that username/password

so it seems that all is working fine.

are you not able to enter your credentials in the login panel?

I can’t see the Textpattern login. Instead:

Not Found

The requested URL /textpattern/index.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Gentlemen, thank you all for taking the time to assist me. I had gotten so frustrated an all and attempt to switch my blog to Wordpress. It is not as friendly as Textpattern to use as a beginner, very first site, newbie to everything. I began on Google’s blogspot…they started threatening everyone using the free platform that is monetarizing on their blog, will be deleted. Thus I bought a domain via Certified Host, that uses Softaculous with options of blogs, microblogs, forums, social networking, e-commerce, etc ….
Textpattern is one of the options listed under blogs… It review it and compared it to others. So here I am.
I use dotclear for creating my videos trailers/previews, and they post and work just fine on textpattern.

I was working on the Style Default and Page Default to try to add the 4.6.2 update scripts and going back and forth to Textpattern on Softaculous to update, and change password, and the combination of the two…. I did something or several things wrong that got me locked out of my admin panel for Textpattern.

I uninstall the current version and reinstalled and older 4.6.2 back (October 30, 2016) and it worked. I am back in and able to view my blog and work in my admin panel now.

However, my old problem still exist with the WARNING: message I posted above. I am totally clueless as to which section, page, style …be it default or what to correct this problem. Any insight in the easiest layman terms would be greatly appreciative.

There is no test.php file in Textpattern. That is a rogue file. Backup then delete your index.php, css.php, .htaccess files and the entire textpattern directory, then re-upload them from a fresh download. Then you need to hunt in the other directories (files and images and the root directory and any other directories that are not part of Textpattern) for rogue files in case there’s anything reinfecting the index.php.

Hi,

It seems that your site has been compromised again. It is either a really bad host or you may have a script in there which is not secure.
