Placeholders and moving from textpattern 1.0rc1 to newest

Hello.
I’ve been away from textpattern for a long time and when i went to move my website from 1.0rc1 to the newest i found i could not set up my sections like in 1.0. with placeholders and .htaccess. My website was designed for me and i just wished to move it to the new textpattern. Is this possible? Sorry I am not very good at web coding and the like.

When i used a section on a link for the site it would go to same xxx.com/xxx
xxx being a placeholder …how would i do that in the newest version?

I hope this makes sense to someone :)

thank you for your time everyone.

Hi resbot and welcome to txp

+1 on bici’s advice but you should also remember to backup your database too.

This community could either help you directly or point you to web-pages and forum posts for any questions you may have.

If you mean the manual folders as placeholders, there’s no need for that any more at all. You can use the htacess file that comes with the new version and set your sections up via the admin panel. It will work out of the box.
