How to modify a plug in?

I need to mod a single line of code in soo_page_numbers, on line 60 I need to change span to a like so

$text_tag = ( $break and $wraptag ) ? ‘’ : ‘a’;

How do I compile the code?

1. Install the plugin
2. Klick in the plugin list the plugin name
3. Make the changes
4. Save

Or you can do it with ied_plugin_composer.
