Hmm… then try changing the $txpcfg['host'] line in config.php to:

$txpcfg['host'] = ':/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock';

Late, but adding: Had a similar problem here with 4.5.4 after server was updated to 5.6.18-1~he.0.

Was solved by TXP update to 4.5.7.

Can anyone explain, why? Just to understand, when trouble comes back. Thank you!

I’ve also had a problem on three installations with exactly the same PHP version as jayrope. I’ve had no error displayed, just a blank screen, BTW.

I’ve only done the small upgrade to 4.5.5 because I’ve had a vague recollection that some plugin broke in 4.5.7, and only there.

I’d also be interested to hear which PHP version might become a critical one for Textpattern.
