I haven’t looked at this closely for browser support or standards compliance, but in principle I really like the custom wrapping concept that shape-outside and shape-margin can provide. Here are the details, and a nice simple example.

I remember when Eric Meyer was describing techniques for achieving this nearly fifteen years ago using multiple stacked div blocks to make the shape. Lol!

So, yeah… The support isn’t very good yet. Still, I would use this on my own site, just because I like to craft articles pretty much to the single character.
