My Textpattern interface has gone wonky...

…and I can’t update the site. I’d like to upload a screengrab, but it appears you can’t do this.
in the top part of the screen, I have these error messages.

First time I’ve seen in four years of using TXP. What’s going on? How to fix?
Thanks.

Re: My Textpattern interface has gone wonky...

Hi and welcome to txp.

If you have plugins which do not work on the latest txp release I would go for the patches, if not, it is highly recommended to upgrade to txp4.5.5.

If you don’t know which plugins would work on the latest release you can post what you have installed here. You can copy paste the relevant part shown in the diagnostics tab

Re: My Textpattern interface has gone wonky...

Thanks for your suggestions. My problem now is Textpattern won’t even let me log in. I’ve tried reset password. Nothing. I’m stuck!

This might be helpful for the password reset: www.textpattern.net/wiki/index.php?title=Forgotten_password

Re: My Textpattern interface has gone wonky...

Check Pete’s (gaekwad) earlier message. I’ve had this happen a few times recently with older version of txp when the host updated their version of PHP. It’s probably best to update to a more recent version of txp, but if that’s not possible, make the modifications Pete linked to dispel the STRICT error messages. You don’t need to reset your password.

Re: My Textpattern interface has gone wonky...

Related to that, there’s no harm in taking backups of your existing 4.4.0 site (files and database), upgrading to 4.5.5 and then trying the password reset again (if you genuinely can’t get in).

Re: My Textpattern interface has gone wonky...

Thanks everybody, esp to gaekwad, who led us to the php fixes which sorted the problem. Will probably upgrade txp to current version quite soon. Happy days.

Re: My Textpattern interface has gone wonky...

Glad that helped. Recommend bumping up to 4.5.x as soon as you can as it fixed 4x XSS security vulnerabilities (info: textpattern.com/weblog/369/textpattern-cms-450-released-a-hive-of-activity if you’re interested).
