Auto Refresh Comments?

What is the best way to refresh just the comments part of a page? I would like to do it with Jquery since it already loads, but I am not sure what to load. If I have the comments in a div element, I can just refresh that div with content right? But then what do I have it load?

Can I have it refresh automatically when a new comment is added to the database?

Thanks

Re: Auto Refresh Comments?

When does the refresh need to happen? After a new post? After someone pushes a button? There are a couple ajax plugins floating around that might help you load the comment portion of your layout in and then auto fresh on a timer or some such voodoo. Hard to say.

Re: Auto Refresh Comments?

On a timer would be fine, like every ten seconds or so. Do you know off hand what those plugins are called?
Thanks

Re: Auto Refresh Comments?

smd_ajax is one but it’s unreleased, but yet attainable. http://forum.textpattern.com/viewtopic.php?pid=242905#p242905
