[solved] new authours passwords (email not working)

Hi there,

I’m not sure if this is an issue with textpattern or my host but when I set up a new author, request a password reset or change my own password textpattern doesn’t seem to be sending out the emails. This means new authors can’t log in as they are not receiving their passwords. Is there another way of finding out their passwords, or can they be set manually? Any ideas why textpattern isn’t sending out emails? I’ve tried to several different addresses and I’ve checked spam folders etc.

If you know how to check your mail server logs, do so.
Two more possibilities:
Look whether there’s an entry in Preferences > Avanced > SMTP envelope sender address. If not add it and try again.
One of my hosts needs an entry in the hosting setup in the section Scripts: a so called “Standard Email Address”. Look whether yours has a similar preference.
