txp and metadata harvesting

We are discussing in developing a site (or a subdomain at neme) to be included in the europeana server. Europeana uses the OAI-PMH Protocol for Metadata Harvesting. The specs can be found here. Can txp produce these?

Outputting content as XML should be doable, but I doubt TXP natively knows about OAI, and no plugin seems to exist. Importing data should be easy, with smd_xml or etc_query.

Thanks for your response. I realise that a custom xml outpout is currently very simple using rah_external but what leaves me scratching my head re the appropriateness of txp is:

Your metadata must conform to the Europeana Semantic Elements, a Dublin Core-based set of fields with additionally 12 specific Europeana elements, which are necessary for records to display correctly in Europeana. Aggregators develop tools with which they can help providers to map their metadata to the Europeana Semantic Elements.

The xml schema in this doc file is requesting a number of fields which I’m yet to be sure if they have to appear in each record (maybe through custom_fields, permlink, excerpt, etc) or if some of them are ‘global’

It is not very clear from the document, maybe you have an example xml file? I know near to nothing about OAI, sorry.

I will be getting one soon(ish) I hope from one of the universities here. I guess I’ll post back in this thread once I have it.
