Re: Show content from a RSS feed

Ah! Thank you so much, I was looking a little through the other link too. I’m a new Flock user and can’t wait for Dinarius to tie in to that too. It’s a lot of learning, but it’s fun!

Re: Show content from a RSS feed

Stop me if I’m way off track, but during lots of snooping around, I’ve bumped in to something that might answer the original question. Get an RSS feed to post to TextPattern.

The final piece claims that the following code will do such a thing:

<script src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/
~s/FEEDNAMEHERE?i=<txp:if_individual_article>
<txp:permlink /><txp:else /><txp:php>
echo rtrim(SITE_URL_HERE(array()), &apos;/&apos;);
</txp:php><txp:page_url />
</txp:if_individual_article>"
 type="text/javascript"
 charset="utf-8">
</script> <<undo the wrapping

Feedburner thanks Markus Merz linking to this site: http://sankt-georg.info/ Which appears to be nothing more than a ton of delicio.us links.

Further details: My path down the rabbit hole was like this… To format FriendFeed’s atom feed, Alan Cheslow instructed FF to Yahoo Pipes with that RSS output to FeedBurner to format in BuzzBoost where javaScript output can go to a Blog’s Sidebar. Alan Cheslow link: http://cheslow.com/2008/06/01/how-to-embed-your-friendfeed-discussions-on-your-website/

FeedBurner’s BuzzBoost has FeedFlare which delivers the JavaScript code as shows ABOVE. That’s the code that claims TextPattern will do all this posting if you add that to the Homepage Template and Article Templates. Naturally, I’m horrible and it didn’t work for me. :) I’m a chump but I’m learning. I’ll keep it up and hope that Boby is reading and decides to stick with TextPattern!
