Re: Complete admin facelift

Nice!

Here’s a suggestion. The forms list in the right panel gets pretty long. How about a hide-away Javascript so different sections (article, comments, etc.) can be expanded or not?

Could be nice suggestion. But a many of us use to arrenge the forms by name, not by the type, so it isn’t so smart after all.

Finished one new tab: plugins, so now txp_plugin.php outputs valid xhtml :). Some sceens:

Cheers!

Re: Complete admin facelift

I’ve been watching this thread for the past few weeks with great interest — I have used manual coding, EE, WP and TXP for various sites and one of the reasons I have had a hard time fully embracing TXP is the admin interface. This is the first custom interface that really looks good. The colors wouldn’t be my choice but if we can use CSS to change them, I’d be willing to pay for this skin. The general layout is a huge improvement and IF it’s more liquid than the current table-based admin interface, I’d be in heaven. I feel like I’m losing my already poor eyesight using the current text windows and when I increase the current interface’s font size in my browser the working space remains the same size, cramping everything. Though I currently copy and paste between a text editor and TXP, that is not the solution I’m looking for.

If you need a beta tester, or a ransom to finish this, please let me know.

Re: Complete admin facelift

Next step is ready: implemented & customized ied_plugincomposer-plugin to work with the facelift. Also started building a brand new tab, know as dashboard. Basically it will be shown when you login to Textpattern, and greets you welcome, shows latest comments and articles.

It kinda works same way as asy_dashboard-plugin by Sencer, but without requirement of the plugin, and with out need to allow the adminside plugins to be used. And it basically work in all situations.

And to you Murk, yep. But no need for betatester, nor yet.

Screens of the new ied_plugincomposer:

Cheers!

Re: Complete admin facelift

I have been quite busy, with couple sites – so this is quite unfinished project. I’m planning to open svn-browser site at this weekend. Thourght that site you can download and view the finished/edited files. It works same way as Textpattern’s SVN Browser

So why I won’t just publish a one package of these files to download? Well, because I don’t want too many people to modify their Textpattern without knowing what they do. Then it’s really hard to direct them if they run in to problems with admin side plugins etc. To limit the destruction, I would work the files throught subversion browser. Till then, wait.

Cheers!
