Bug: XML-RPC edit results in 404 not found

Hello everybody, it’s my first post, be gentle. ;-)

After the Official Announcement I tried out MarsEdit and got myself a copy. Everything seemed to work just fine until one day I edited a post and re-submitted it to Txp.
This would then result in a 404 error (not found) on my blog when trying to read the whole article even though the excerpt/article still shows up on my front page. Meaning that on http://blog.davus.it it works, the whole article is shown, but (I left it as an expample) http://blog.davus.it/eigene-sache/erneuerung will show the error.

The RPC Console in MarsEdit only revealed a successfull post
RPC message sent: 2007-05-21 10:00:35 +0200
URL: http://blog.davus.it/rpc/index.php
Method name: metaWeblog.editPost
RPC reply received: 2007-05-21 10:00:37 +0200
URL: http://blog.davus.it/rpc/index.php
Method name: metaWeblog.editPost
Status code: 200
Succeeded: YES

But I saw that the metaWeblog.getPost would come back with
link and permalink only as http://mysite.com/category/ but without the title of the article.

So I looked at the changes in the database table when editing a post.
this revealed that the edited article (in the “textpattern” table) had:
url_title: empty
feed_time: 1969-12-31
(same feed_time on all articles created via rpc, edited or not)

My solution until now was to simply open the article in Txp and re-save it. This resolves it, but isn’t a comfortable workaround.

Does anybody know what to do about this?
Thanks in advance.

Btw, I asked the developer of MarsEdit, but he suggested it was a TXP-Issue. (Post in the MarsEdit Forum)

I don’t have the precise logs right now but this is pretty much the same experience I have – and not just with Marsedit. I think that metaweblog works better than the MT API but it doesn’t give access to extended entries etc, which are a fairly substantial part of my writing workflow.

Bump? So does the XML-RPC actually get used much?
