Server not found error after comment submission

Hello everyone,

I recently upgraded to 4.0.4 and noticed that my comment form gives a “Server not found” error on submission of a comment. Previewing the comment works fine and the comment does actually get submitted, however it does not go back to the article. On checking the URL, I noticed that it “doubled up” (e.g. http://www.godsporch.nethttp//www.godsporch.net/?id=71&commented=1#c000210) and so that is probably the reason why it gave that error, however I am not sure exactly what causes the URL to double up after comment submission.

Anyone know why and knows of a possible solution? Do you need me to post a tag trace or any diagnostic info?

Thanks but that didn’t seem to solve the problem. Based on what is happening, I wouldn’t think it had anything to do with comment spam blacklisting. Comments are posted, but instead of getting carried back to the article afterwards, I get a “server not found” error. Any particular reason why you thought it had something to do with the FAQ solution you posted?

Yes, that’d be why. It’s hard to say why that would happen. Could you please post the results of your “High” diagnostics?

Just an observation: you’re using the 404 ErrorDocument method for clean URLs, which is not well tested.

Hmm..Thanks zem. I had to use the 404 ErrorDocument method with TXP 4.0.3 because my comment previews were disappearing, but I guess it might not be necessary anymore.

I took out all the things I had changed based on this article , but then my pages wouldn’t load properly with clean URL’s, turns out my .htaccess was also missing a few things that were in the default .htaccess that comes with TXP, so I added them back in and now it seems everything is working. Thanks again.
