i want to sort my articles section and category sensitive but it doesn’t work and i don’t know why my code is as follows

<txp:php> $a = category (array ()); echo round(getCount('textpattern','status=4 and section="given" and category1="$a"')); </txp:php>

so is there every one who can help me?
