Re: Last pre-release: 4.0.4rc1

Yes, please kees-b. I think mary’s response was not directly targeted t your comment. It was a general statement, that people need not be worried if translations get finished at some point in time after the release.

I can confirm that there are untranslated strings, and it’s very, very helpful that you and skubidu compiled the lists you did. I promise to get those remaining lang.stuff sorted out in a reasonable time-frame, not sure if/how much we’ll get ready for 4.0.4.

Re: Last pre-release: 4.0.4rc1

Yes, it was a general comment, after seeing several people were concerned about punctuation and re-phrasing of existing lang strings, and trying to get it done right for the 4.0.4 release, in this and the previous rc threads; just saying, “Don’t worry, we’ll get to it.” (And I have been as much as I can as we go along.) I’m sorry I was not more clear.

Also, there’s a difference between strings that are in the code but not in the server, and strings not in both: the first can also be done before, during and after 4.0.4’s release, as long as there aren’t going to be any conflicts.

Mary, it was absolutely not meant to criticize, and I’m shure Nils and I did post these strings because we are greedy translation animals ready to attack new strings as fast as possible. To get the best release possible. Same spirit as you have.

Oh, that’s fine :) Just wanted to know if <i>I</i> missed something.

Constructive criticism is always a good thing, but I wasn’t taking it as criticism anyway. :) Working on those strings….

Re: Last pre-release: 4.0.4rc1

Was nowidow for recent_articles (and eventually other tags rendering article titles) ever considered to fit into 4.0.4?

Re: Last pre-release: 4.0.4rc1

I’m not sure one way or the other, but I do have one question: doesn’t the problem occur with headings usually, not list items (since they usually use a more reasonable font size)? I mean, it’s not like it’s an unreasonable idea, just wondering if it would really be needed?

Ah, Sencer just added it anyway (r1914). :)

It occured to me in my recent/related articles column (see the link under the heading “Ähnliche Beiträge” saying “Textpattern – The Movie (Vol. 1)” here at the right). It wraps between “Vol.” and “1” with my font settings/OS/browser. Updated to lastest svn, works as epected. Thanks! Now if this was also available for related_articles, too ;-)

Re: Last pre-release: 4.0.4rc1

No search results in 4.0.4rc1

I just upgraded a site I am building to 4.0.4rc1 and get no search results. None at all… I wondered if there was something wrong with my code, so I installed a fresh installation with a new database as well. Search does not deliver results here either.

Hereby my diagnostics:

Re: Last pre-release: 4.0.4rc1

So you search for a string you know is found in your articles, and you get a “no results found” message, or do you not get a search results page at all?

Thanks for the quick response, Mary. I always admire your devotion. :-)

I get no results, no message. Feel free to test:

Re: Last pre-release: 4.0.4rc1

Okay, my next question is: could you post a tag trace of this url (or any url of a search query)?
