Comment Form problems
Hello everyone,
Up until today my comment form was working fine, however a friend of mine was adding a comment to the site and noticed that after filling out the form and clicking the preview button the form cleared and did nothing. I tried it also and the same problem occured. I haven’t changed anything since the last time someone successfully commented (which was in July), so I’m a bit unsure of what’s wrong or how to fix it.
Anyone have any ideas as to why the comment form suddenly stopped working?

Yeah, that’s odd.
Nothing’s changed at all (it doesn’t have to actually be related to cause problems sometimes)? You haven’t added new plugins, or scripts to your page?

Hello Mary,
Nope I haven’t made any changes whatsoever. The only thing I do remember doing is adding a rule to my stylesheet that took out the surrounding quotes of the < q > element. But that shouldn’t affect the comments. Other than that, nothing that I can recall. It was my first post to my blog since a few weeks back. It was even the first time I was logging into the TXP admin panel in a long time too.

- turn on debugging (production status in admin prefs)?
- provide your full diagnostics?

ErrorDocument 404 /index.php
You’re using the 404 method to implement clean URLs. It’s experimental and doesn’t always work, particularly when submitting forms.
It might have worked earlier, but your hosting company has changed something in their server config that causes it to break.

When you are using the ErrorDocument Method with Apache you have to define the constant PARTLY_MESSY or else POST data will get lost (always) which seems to be exactly what is happening to you. I suggest you re-read the instructions on it in the weblog.
