I’ve been using it with perfect success on 4.0.4. It’s a simply wonderful plugin.

It will never screw up your database, although advertised as Beta, it’s pretty much gamma.
I have been testing it thoroughly with 4.0.4 recently and haven’t found any problems.

Neat plugin! Almost perfect.

I just wish there was a way that I could have the DB synced to FTP somehow without having to import. This way I can edit files in Textmate directly on the server and make changes in real time.

@Ace, there is a sql-edit Bundle for TM, if you want to give that a try.

Well, what about the option of the CSS editor actually physically editing the file? Would work anywhere there’s not safe_mode.

All it would need is an admin plugin that overrides the existing Style tab, too!

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] mcw_templates: export/import pages, forms, css to files

I’d really like to use this plugin or its relative hcg_templates, but they both write files that belong to the webserver. Since I use shared webhosting, this means that I can’t change or delete the files after.

Is the file ownership controlled by the plugin code, or by the webhost, and what can be done to fix this problem?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] mcw_templates: export/import pages, forms, css to files

Would love for this to work with 4.0.6. This is the error I’m getting. Anyone have any ideas?

Warning: opendir(/home/content/r/s/s/rsskga1/html/htdocs/textpattern/_templates) [function.opendir]: failed to open dir: No such file or directory in /home/content/r/s/s/rsskga1/html/textpattern/lib/txplib_misc.php(574) : eval()’d code on line 303

Warning: readdir(): supplied argument is not a valid Directory resource in /home/content/r/s/s/rsskga1/html/textpattern/lib/txplib_misc.php(574) : eval()’d code on line 307

I should add that the _templates folder is in the textpattern directory with all permissions.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] mcw_templates: export/import pages, forms, css to files

Raina – I know a couple of users who have had similar warnings. I’m not sure what the problem is myself but swapping to the hcg_templates version seems to cure it. You will also need to move the _templates folder to the root. Although the comment above yours is quite old I will mention that permissions are not dealt with by the plug-in, they are server-settings which your host will need to sort out if you have problems with this. Deleting files with the wrong ownership can usually be done via cPanel or whatever you have.
