Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

Jufemaiz,

I just noticed your to do list…categories for events is on there. Woo-hoo!

What you’ve created here is SO essential for bands & labels or anyone needing to list events with TXP.
Once the events can be categorized this thing will be even more amazing! I’ll keep checking for an update.

Cheers…

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

hello jufemaiz

I hope this thread has gone quiet because you’re still doing your exams, and not because you’ve become disheartened with the plugin. I think its got the potential to be a seriously useful addition to the txp toolbox.

Textpattern is ace for most simple content types, but I’ve previously needed to build a custom events management system, and end up with two admin systems where one would be much slicker. I’m sure that plenty of people start out building sites to promote bands and clubs and will see the benefit of this plugin pretty quickly.

my wishlist (in order of prio) would be:
  • categories
  • Image for event + venue
  • RSS Feed

Until those first two of those are in the bag I can’t really use it, but right now I have 3 sites that it would be perfect for.
aaah well… if I wasn’t such a php dimwit I’d be happy to get involved, but as it is I can only offer encouragement :)

A couple of questions:

As far as I can tell, at the moment, events are all output together (equivalent to an article_list?)… Are there any plans to be able to publish individual events(with a unique URL), in the way you can view an individual article in the default Txp system? Not sure if that would be beyond the scope of what you’re trying to do.

Have you looked into the world of structured blogging ?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

My own wishlist would be :

  • using the “end date” parameter to stop displaying the event… instead of begin date… It’s very important !

That’s all I can wish for the moment as almost all the rest can be done with textpattern and custom fields now ;-)

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

Hello all.

It’s sad to see this go quiet for so long. Is there anyway what has been started here can be continued? I sincerely wish I had the skills to help…However…I’m nothing more than a little lost lamb when it comes to programming.

Any thoughts? Any interest?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

I´ve got a problem that I think is caused by this plugin. I described it here in the troubleshooting area. The thing is that jmc_event_manager generate the list exactly the way I want but not on my frontpage

When visiting an individual article the list is shown the way I want in the upper right corner (below the headline: kommande händelser)

Anyone else had this problem???

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

Sorry, no such problem for me. The list displays on my frontpage exactly the same as articles pages…

Can we see your code stuff ? (your pastbin data had timed out)
