Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

It looks like a fantastic plugin! I tried to install, and had no problem (not used yet).

I’thinking: there would be a way to organize events in categories, or names, and displaying accordingly?

Suppose I have to manage three different lists of events (one in may, one in august, one in december, each one with different programs and names). I wondering if this could be done or if it is planned in future versions.

Thanks for your effort!

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

Not yet – but that’s the sort of feedback I was looking for…

What I might end up adding is an optional field (or two) that can be used for searching (example is as you give a category, but separate to the main categories of txp), although if the events are at a particular venue you can restrict the search to a venue (if that’s a possibility)…

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

Yeah, just what I wanted.
One problem – I can not make the end date display – how will I do that?

Yes, it’s just what I was thinking of. :-)
I agree it’would be best to separate categories from other txp cat.
It’s true that the venue may be a way of hacking this, but suppose all my three events are in the same place, in different times and with different topic… (like a theather season).

Thank you for your response!

Er… could it be that the download on Textpattern.org is zem_tpl instead of your plugin?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

I have a few questions:

  1. I assumed that <txp:jmc_event_time start="0" /> would display the end date, but it displays the start date. What do I have to do to get the end date?
  2. I don’t quite understand how to use <txp:jmc_if_variable variable="VariableName">. What exactly should be the VariableName? Could this be used to display ‘other info’ only if that field is not empty? If so, how do I know the name I should use?
  3. Is there a way to display the end date only if the end date is not the same as the start date?
  4. I would like to display the names of the months in Dutch, so I changed them in the plugin code. But php_date=“j F Y” still gives me the english names. Is there a way to do this?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

doh! I thought that had been updated on the version I was playing with!!!

Anyhow:

  1. Dates are done using the PHP function. I am not sure of any extension of this to cater to international naming of months.
  2. the following is a list of variables that can be used with the jmc_if_variable function:

EVENTS:
event_id
event_name
event_price
otherbands
event_otherinfo

VENUE:
venue_id
venue_name
address1
address2
suburb
state
country
postcode
phone
url
email
venue_otherinfo

  1. not yet – though will consider in an update.
  2. see above

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] jmc_event_manager

Thanks for your reply. I’ll just choose another date format to avoid the names of the months.
Do I understand you correctly in assuming that dislaying the end date is not yet possible in this version?
