Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_emff: Streaming mp3

I might be mistaken, couldn’t get this thing to work just right, but I believe there might be a typo in the advanced pref skin choice. I believe the emff player field says “emff_standart.swf” instead of “emff_standard.swf” upon plugin installation. It’s the only thing I noticed as being off – I fixed it and all work well. I LOVE the fact that you can now stream mp3’s form anywhere on the net, not just the textpattern file system. Good work and much appreciated!

I fixed it and it write now the <strongt>d</strongt>

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_emff: Streaming mp3

I’ve got the 0.3 version of the plugin working beautifully for one page, thank you for your work.

I’m wondering if it is possible to be able to create a page that will display information about the selected file and include the player for it— without having to code a page for each mp3 individually. It seems that the only way to get a dynamically selected song is to use a custom preference, and that only allows for one song in one place, I am looking for the ability to stream whatever song the user chooses.

What I’m looking for is to have something similar to a txp:file_download_list except each link will bring up a page that will display title and description as well as this player.

Is this something that is possible or am I pretty much stuck creating individual pages for each song my user uploads?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_emff: Streaming mp3

This is a great plugin, but I have some questions:

  • When I start playing and then press stop, it continues loading the whole mp3-file, even though I’m not interested in listening anymore. If I start playing more mp3’s on the same page this will result in lots of bandwidth going to waste. Is it possible to prevent this?
  • Is it only possible to play mp3’s in 44.1 kHz? I tried 24 kHz but the sound played at high speed instead.

Maybe I should ask the author of the player instead?

Thanks again!

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_emff: Streaming mp3

That playing -> stop problem is new to me. I will check it.

The player plays some mp3 to fast, because there is a bug in the macromedias mp3-function, itself.
So this one is not an bug in emff or the plugin, its a general flash one.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_emff: Streaming mp3

Hi is the plugin working on 4.0.3? I downloaded the files, followed instructions but it doesn’t seem to work.
I use bas_flvplayer with no problems.
Checking the page code i can see that the tag isn’t parsed, i just see the bas_emff tag as i put it in the template.
Any ideas?
thx

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_emff: Streaming mp3

Mine inexplicably stopped woring. The debug addition to the tag didn’t produce any results either. Does this indeed work with 4.0.3?

The player should be there under the thumbnail: http://www.thehumanmuseum.com/blog/article/the-glottal-crest-of-a-purr

It was there until about a week ago, around the time I upgraded.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_emff: Streaming mp3

Alright, I’ll try my best. It was working, I just noticed it had stopped working a couple of days ago. I deleted and reinstalled the plugin and all of it’s files. I was linking to an offsite mp3 using a custom feild – I checked and the mp3 is still there. I deleted the custom feild and created it again. Still no good. I used the debug syntax with the plugin and nothing was produced – no warnings or anything, just the post like normal, without the flashplayer being shown underneath.

http://www.thehumanmuseum.com/blog/article/the-glottal-crest-of-a-purr

The flash should be between the last thumbnail in the post and the box containing the date and tag.

This is the following code produced when I viewed the page source:

<code><div class=“music”><object type=“application/x-shockwave-flash” data=“http://www.thehumanmuseum.com/blog/file_download/11?src=http://www.bandofhorses.com/mp3/03Funeral.mp3” width=“110” height=“34”> <param name=“movie” value=“http://www.thehumanmuseum.com/blog/file_download/11?src=http://www.bandofhorses.com/mp3/03Funeral.mp3” /> <param name=“quality” value=“high” /> <param name=“bgcolor” value=”#ffffff” />
</object></div></code>

Any ideas?
